What's happening on the escarpment.
Races, camps, flying season and the occasional very good party. Here is roughly how a year goes.
Coming up.

The season ahead.
Dry, clear and warm. The best thermals of the year and the busiest stretch for camps building towards the spring marathons. Book well ahead.
Green, quiet and cheap. Afternoon storms roll along the escarpment, which is spectacular from the terrace and inconvenient on a bike. Excellent for birding.
Cool, dry and busy. International visitors, full camps and the strongest running calendar. This is when the lodge feels most like a crossroads.
Brief rains give way to the clearest air of the year. December fills with celebrations, weddings and families making the drive up from the cities.
